What can I expect from an osteopathic consultation?
Initially we will take a full case history to obtain information about your specific complaint and your medical history. This gives us a clear picture of factors that may be involved in your complaint.
Then we will examine you (and perform tests if indicated ) to find the cause of your pain.
Treatment will then follow with the aim of resolving the cause of your discomfort. We may also give you advice (exercises/nutritional/self-help) to help with your recovery. The initial consultation usually takes 45min – 1hr.

Are you ACC registered?
Yes, our osteopaths are ACC registered. You don’t need to be referred by your G.P. or other health care professional if you have had an accident.

Is osteopathic treatment covered by my medical insurance?

Certain insurance companies do cover some the cost of osteopathic treatment in New Zealand. We recommend you check with your insurance provider.

Do you have female and male osteopaths?
Yes, we have both female and male osteopaths available for your care. All our osteopaths are registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand.

Can anyone benefit from osteopathic treatment?
Osteopathy can benefit people of all ages.

Can treatment hurt my newborn, baby or child?
Treatment of newborns babies and children is very gentle and non-invasive. We use a combination of gentle techniques to treat babies and children. If your child is upset or distressed, treatment can take place while you are holding or nursing them.
Note : Babies under the age of one month will receive their initial consultant treatment at half price.

Do you refer to other health professionals if necessary?

We have a network of other health professional we do refer to if necessary. These include G.P’s, specialists, podiatrists, physiotherapists, naturopaths, massage therapists etc.
